Solitary beam detectors, or single beam sensors, are crucial in optimizing the automation of sliding doors, shutter doors, garage doors, and windows. Each meticulously designed unit includes a transmitter and receiver fortified with an integrated amplifier that casts an infrared beam, impervious to ambient light interference. These sensors, when mounted at a height of merely 20-40cm above the ground, provide a dependable detection range of 2-20 meters. The IR-20 sensor's intelligent self-detecting feature ensures cessation of door closure upon beam interruption, swiftly retracting the door to its fully open position and resuming only upon reestablishment of the beam. This dynamic detection mechanism is rendered inactive post complete door closure.
Functionality:
Position each detector pair strategically at opposite ends to form an invisible yet powerful infrared zone. Any movement within this zone instantly activates an alarm signal sent to a connected security alarm host (not included). This system is ideally suited for fortifying educational establishments, commercial edifices, healthcare facilities, residences, and more. Impressively, the detection range retains its stability even amidst severe weather conditions such as rain or dust storms.

In practical applications, the photocell sensor thoughtfully selects the optimal trigger response time. A response time that is excessively short could lead to unwarranted disturbances from innocuous elements such as flying birds or falling leaves, resulting in false alarms. Conversely, an overly extended response time might cause missed detections, thereby undermining the sensor's effectiveness.
Installation
1. To commence, gently lift the front panel of the IR-20 photocell to access its interior.
2. Carefully insert the cables into their designated housings and securely affix the base to the wall. When wall-mounting, drill three 5ø holes and utilize appropriate screw anchors. For metal surfaces, drill three 3ø holes and employ self-tapping screws.
3. Establish the power connection to the photocells, operable on 12-24 VAC or 12-30 VDC. Provided that positioning, alignment, and connections are executed with precision, the red LED on the receiver will remain unlit. The red LED will illuminate each time the infrared beam encounters an obstruction.
4. Securely close the photocell by reinstating the front panel. Confirm its proper insertion and security. Verify the relay response through multiple interruptions of the beam.
5. Fasten the front panels firmly using the screws provided.
