JUTAI Single Channel Vehicle Detector User Guide
Connections
The following image illustrates the detailed connections for the JUTAI Single Channel Loop Detector models LD100 and LD102. Typically, pins 1 and 2 are used to connect the power supply, whereas pins 8 and 9 connect to the loop coils. For optimal performance, we recommend using the JUTAI Loop Cable Model JTHT-11. Pin 5 connects to GND. Refer to the following connection details for comprehensive information.
Indicators And Switches
1. Power LED: The red power LED indicates when the detector is powered on.
Detecting LED: A steady light indicates vehicle detection.
Slow blinking: Indicates a short circuit in the loop or insufficient twists in the wire.
Fast blinking: Indicates an open circuit in the loop or excessive twists in the wire.
2. Switch 1 (Trimpot), Sensitivity Selection
The sensitivity of the loop can be adjusted using the trimpot labeled 'Sensitivity'. Users can choose from 16 different settings, with 0 being the least sensitive and 'F' being the most sensitive.
3. Switch 2 (Dipswitch Settings)
1) DIP 1 & DIP 2: Configure special functions.
2) DIP 3 & DIP 4: Set Relay B output options.
3) DIP 5: Enable automatic reset.
4) DIP 6, DIP 7, & DIP 8: Adjust Relay A delay settings.
5) DIP 9 & DIP 10: Set frequency (40 KHz to 100 KHz) to prevent interference.
In applications where multiple loop detectors and sensing loops are installed, configure one detector to high frequency and the other to low frequency to reduce cross-talk. Ensure sensing loops and detectors are positioned at least 2 meters apart.
4. Reset Button: Note: The LD-100 must be reset after any changes to the DIP switch settings.
Detector Position and Installation
1. Install the detector in a weatherproof housing.
2. Position the detector as close to the sensing loop as possible.
3. The detector should always be installed away from strong magnetic fields.
4. Avoid running high-voltage wires near loop detectors.
5. Ensure the detector is not mounted on vibrating surfaces to maintain optimal performance.
6. For installations where the control box is within 10 meters of the loop, standard wiring suffices. For distances over 10 meters and up to 30 meters, use a 2-core shielded cable to connect the control box to the loop. Exceeding 30 meters is not recommended.
Loop Installation
The loops are sealed with a 'quick-set' black epoxy compound or hot bitumen mastic, seamlessly blending with the roadway surface.
Trouble Shooting
JUTAI LD-100/102 series vehicle detectors boast an extensive sensing range of 15 uh to 2000 uh, effectively detecting various vehicles from small electric cars and motorcycles to large trucks and trailers. However, using loop coils with a value reaching 2000 uh requires extensive high-temperature wiring (Model: JTHT-11), leading to material waste and increased project costs. Typically, setting the inductance to around 300 uh with a coil size of 1 meter wide and 2 meters long, using 8-10 turns, suffices to detect all vehicle types. For quick installation, set a loop coil of 1m wide and 2m long with 10 turns, measure the inductance with a multimeter, and adjust the coil size based on the parking entry/exit channel dimensions. Smaller diameter coils require more turns, while larger diameters need fewer turns, enhancing installation flexibility and efficiency. Refer to project references for detailed operations.
