Solitary beam detectors, also known as single beam sensors, are crucial in the operation of automated sliding doors, shutter doors, garage doors, windows, and more. Each sophisticated unit comprises a transmitter paired with a receiver, complete with an integrated amplifier to emit a robust infrared beam. This narrow beam, available in Type I or II, effectively curbs external light interference. Remarkably efficient, these sensors maintain a reliable detection range of 2 - 20 meters, even when installed at low heights (20 - 40cm above ground). The IR-20 sensor is especially commendable for its self-detection capability in sliding doors. Should the beam be obstructed, the door ceases to close and reopens completely, resuming function only once the beam is intact. After the door securely closes, the detection beam is deactivated to conserve energy.
Functionality:
Position each detector pair on opposite ends to form a comprehensive infrared zone. Any movement detected within this zone sends an immediate alarm signal to the central security alarm system (system not included), making it an ideal choice for security infrastructures in schools, commercial complexes, healthcare facilities, residential areas, and beyond. With steadfast performance, the detection range remains unaltered even in challenging weather conditions such as heavy rain or dust storms.

In real-world applications, the photocell sensor is designed to fine-tune the trigger response time, expertly balancing to sidestep unnecessary false alarms. A response time set too short might react to trivial disturbances like birds or falling leaves, while a protracted response time could lead to missed detections, undermining the device's efficacy.
Installation
1. Access the IR-20 by gently lifting the front panel of the photocell for a streamlined approach.
2. Carefully insert cables into their designated housings and secure the base firmly to the wall. When wall-mounting, drill three 5ø holes and utilize appropriate screw anchors. For metal surfaces, drill three 3ø holes and employ self-tapping screws for robust attachment.
3. Complete the connection process. Energize the photocells with a power supply of 12-24 VAC or 12-30 VDC. A well-executed positioning, alignment, and connection will ensure the red LED on the receiver remains off. The red LED illuminates only when the beam is disrupted, confirming operational integrity.
4. Securely cover the photocell with the front panel, ensuring it clicks shut. Intermittently interrupt the beam to verify the reliability of the relay response.
5. Firmly affix the front panels using the screws provided for a secure closure.
