JUTAI Single Channel Vehicle Detector User Guide
Connections
Below, we provide detailed connection guidelines for the JUTAI Single Channel Loop Detector models LD100 and LD102. Typically, pin1 and pin2 are used for power supply connections, while pin8 and pin9 connect to loop coils. We recommend using the JUTAI Loop Cable Mode JTHT-11. Pin5 connects to GND. For more detailed information, refer to the connection instructions below;
Indicators and Switches
1. Power LED: The RED power LED indicates a "Power ON" status.
Detecting LED: Steady On: Indicates vehicle detection.
Slow Blinking: Indicates a short circuit or insufficient twists after the loop.
Fast Blinking: Indicates an open circuit or too many twists after the loop.
2. Switch 1 (Trimpot), Sensitivity Selection
The loop sensitivity can be finely adjusted using the trimpot labeled "Sensitivity." Users can choose from 16 different settings, with 0 being the least sensitive and "F" being the most sensitive.
3. Switch 2 (Dipswitch Settings)
(1) DIP 1 & DIP 2: Special Function Settings
(2) DIP 3 & DIP 4: Relay B Output Settings
(3) DIP 5: Automatic Reset Setting
(4) DIP 6, DIP 7 & DIP 8: Relay A Delay Settings
(5) DIP 9 & DIP 10: Frequency Settings (40 K to 100 KHz), used to avoid interference
In applications where multiple loop detectors and sensing loops are installed, set one detector to high frequency and the other to low frequency to minimize cross-talk effects. Sensing loops and detectors should be positioned at least 2 meters apart.
4. Reset Button: Note - The LD-100 must be reset whenever any changes are made to the Dip switch settings.
Detector Position and Installation
1. Install the detector within a weatherproof housing.
2. Ensure the detector is as close to the sensing loop as possible.
3. The detector should be installed away from strong magnetic fields.
4. Avoid running high voltage wires near the loop detectors.
5. Do not install the detector on vibrating surfaces.
6. For optimal performance, if the control box is installed within 10 meters of the loop, standard wiring will suffice. However, should the distance exceed 10 meters, it is imperative to use a 2-core shielded cable. Please ensure that the distance between the control box and the loop does not surpass 30 meters to maintain proper functionality.
Loop Installation
To ensure durability and seamless integration with the roadway, the loops are meticulously sealed using a 'quick-set' black epoxy compound or hot bitumen mastic. This method ensures they blend flawlessly with the surface, providing a long-lasting and reliable solution.
Trouble Shooting
The JUTAI LD-100/102 series vehicle detectors boast an extensive sensing range, from 15 uh to 2000 uh, efficiently detecting a wide array of vehicles, including small electric vehicles, motorcycles, conventional cars, trucks, and trailers. However, utilizing the maximum inductance value of 2000 uh demands substantial high-temperature wire (Model: JTHT-11), leading to material wastage and increased hardware costs. Typically, an inductance of 300 uh is sufficient. For instance, a coil size of 1 meter wide by 2 meters long, with 8-10 turns, effectively detects various car models. For rapid installation, first create a loop coil of 1m width and 2m length with 10 turns. Use a multimeter to measure the inductance value. Depending on the size of the parking entry/exit channel, adjust the coil size accordingly. For smaller diameters, increase the number of turns; for larger diameters, decrease the number of turns. This flexibility enhances application efficiency for varying entrance and exit sizes. For detailed procedures, please refer to the project references.
