An inductive loop detector operates as an electromagnetic communication or traditional traffic detection system, primarily utilizing buried coils and moving magnets to generate an electric current. As the world's most prevalent traffic detection device, it plays a crucial role in modern traffic management.
The embedded toroidal coil type vehicle detector comprises a regulated power supply, oscillating coil, logic circuit, microprocessor, interface, driving circuit, signal output circuit, and induction coil, among other components. This intricate assembly ensures accurate vehicle detection and reliable performance.
A vehicle detector hinges on the principle of electromagnetic induction, with ring-shaped induction coils embedded in the roadbed of each lane. As vehicles pass over or halt on these coils, they disrupt the magnetic flux lines, altering the wire loop inductance. Connections
The image below illustrates the intricate connections for the JUTAI Single Channel Loop Detector models LD100 and LD102. Typically, we use pin1 and pin2 to connect to the power supply, while pin8 and pin9 are designated for the loop coils. For optimal performance, we recommend the JUTAI Loop Cable Model JTHT-11. Additionally, pin5 should be connected to GND. For more detailed information, please refer to the following connection diagram.
Detector Position and Installation
1. Ensure the detector is installed in a weatherproof housing to protect it from environmental elements.
2. Position the detector as close to the sensing loop as possible to maximize its efficiency.
3. Install the detector away from strong magnetic fields to avoid interference.
4. Avoid placing high voltage wires in close proximity to the loop detectors to prevent signal disruption.
5. Refrain from installing the detector on surfaces or structures that are prone to vibration.
6. When the control box is installed within a 10-meter range of the loop, standard wires are adequate. Should the distance exceed 10 meters, a 2-core shielded cable is required, with a maximum distance of 30 meters between the control box and the loop.
Loop Installation
The loops should be sealed using a 'quick-set' black epoxy compound or hot bitumen mastic to seamlessly integrate with the roadway surface.
Ensure that during installation, the product plug and socket are maintained in a vertical orientation.
