Solitary Beam Detectors, also known as Single Beam Sensors, are indispensable for automated sliding doors, shutter doors, garage doors, windows, and more. Each unit includes a transmitter and receiver with an integrated amplifier that projects an infrared beam. This precise infrared beam (Type I or II) is designed to withstand external light interference effectively. Even when installed at a height of just 20-40 cm above the ground, these sensors maintain a robust detection range of 2-20 meters. Notably, the IR-20 sensor's self-detecting feature ensures that sliding doors halt and retract quickly upon beam interruption, resuming operation only when the beam is restored, and deactivating post-closure.
Functionality:
Strategically position each detector pair to establish an infrared zone. Any movement within this zone triggers an alert signal sent to a security alarm host (not included). Ideal for enhancing security in schools, commercial buildings, medical facilities, homes, and more. The detection range remains reliable, even in adverse weather conditions like rain and dust storms.

In real-world applications, the photocell sensor intelligently selects the optimum trigger response time to minimize unnecessary interference. For instance, if the response time is too brief, it might react to transient disturbances like flying birds or falling leaves, causing false alarms. Conversely, an excessively long response time could result in missed detections, thereby diminishing effectiveness.
Installation
1. To open the IR-20, lift the front panel of the photocell.
2. Insert the cables into their designated housing and secure the base to the wall. For wall mounting, drill three 5ø holes and fit suitable screw anchors. For metal mounting, drill three 3ø holes for self-tapping screws.
3. Make the necessary connections. Power the photocells with 12-24 VAC or 12-30 VDC. If alignment and connections are correctly performed, the receiver's red LED will be off. The red LED will light up each time the beam is interrupted.
4. Cover the photocell with the front panel. Insert it fully and close. Interrupt the beam multiple times to verify the relay's response.
5. Secure the front panels with the provided screws.
